to having our five highly qualified and board certified physicians we work closely with other specialists
and your primary care provider.
Dr.James G. Mhyre M.D., F.A.C.S. - General, Vascular and Thoracic Surgery, Hernia
Dr. Mhyre was born and raised in Spokane, WA and went to the University of Washington where he
completed three degrees. He and his family moved to Ann Arbor Michigan where he completed a six year
residency in surgery. They returned to the Seattle area and joined Evergreen Surgical Clinic in 1980
where he has practiced his entire career. He has been active on the medical staff at Evergreen Hospital
Medical Center and has held a number of elected positions including Chief of Staff. He is currently
Chief of Surgery and also serves as the Medical Director of the Surgical Department at Evergreen
Hospital Medical Center where he is in charge of new program development and quality of care across
the various lines of surgical services. Dr. Mhyre is board certified by the American Board of Surgery
and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Mhyre is married with three children, one still at home. During his time away from surgery he enjoys
travel, skiing, digital photography, and mountain climbing.
